About Renewal Process
The Renewal Process offers a depth-oriented, trauma-informed approach to therapy for adults who are ready for more than surface-level change. This work is grounded in attachment theory, somatic awareness, parts-based exploration, and nervous-system science, supporting meaningful shifts not only in how you feel — but in how you relate, respond, and live.

Rather than focusing solely on symptom management, we work together to understand the patterns that have shaped your emotional world. Through a deeply relational therapeutic connection, you’ll explore the protective strategies, inner parts, and embodied responses that once helped you survive — and now may be keeping you stuck. As awareness grows, these patterns soften, making space for greater regulation, clarity, and choice.

Clients often report profound changes: increased emotional steadiness, improved relationships, deeper self-trust, and a renewed sense of agency in their lives. This process supports long-term transformation by working with the nervous system and lived experience — not just insight alone.

As The Renewal Process has grown, so has the ability to support more people. Through intentional mentoring and training, this approach is now extended through an associate who works within the same relational, trauma-informed framework and under ongoing clinical guidance. This allows more individuals to access this depth of care while maintaining the integrity, safety, and consistency of the work.

The Renewal Process is therapy that honours where you’ve been, meets you where you are, and supports who you’re becoming.
Our Services
Individual Counselling
Individual counselling at The Renewal Process offers a depth-oriented, trauma-informed space to explore the patterns shaping how you feel, relate, and respond. This work goes beyond symptom management to gently uncover the protective strategies and nervous-system responses that once helped you cope — and may now be keeping you stuck.

Using attachment-focused, somatic, and parts-informed approaches, therapy supports greater regulation, self-understanding, and lasting change. Sessions are collaborative, grounded, and paced with care, helping insight translate into real shifts in daily life and relationships.
Couples Counselling
Our relationships are where our deepest attachment patterns, wounds, and longings show up. Relationship therapy within The Renewal Process offers a safe, grounded, and non-judgmental space to slow things down and understand what’s happening beneath conflict and disconnection.

This work integrates attachment-focused and relational approaches, including Emotionally Focused Therapy and the Gottman Method (Level 2), and is inclusive of diverse identities and relationship structures. I work carefully with both partners, holding balanced alliances in service of deeper understanding, repair, and connection.

Family Counselling
Families are living systems when one part is struggling, it often affects the whole. Family counselling at The Renewal Process supports families in understanding patterns, improving communication, and navigating conflict with greater clarity and care.
Using an attachment-informed, systems-based approach, we help families slow things down, make sense of long-standing dynamics, and create space for more respectful and effective ways of relating. Sessions are guided with neutrality and intention, ensuring each voice is heard while keeping the wellbeing of the family system at the centre.
Family work can feel vulnerable and, at times, uncomfortable but it can also be deeply reparative. Our role is to support families in moving toward greater connection, mutual understanding, and healthier ways of being together.
Trauma Resolve
Trauma—whether from a single event or ongoing exposure—can shape how we feel, think, and relate long after the experience has passed. At The Renewal Process, trauma resolution work focuses on helping clients gently untangle these impacts in a way that is paced, supportive, and nervous-system informed.

Using integrative approaches such as Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Hakomi, Somatic Exploration, and Internal Family Systems (IFS), we work collaboratively to support regulation, increase capacity, and create lasting shifts. Trauma work can bring up powerful emotions, and you don’t have to navigate them alone. Our role is to walk alongside you as you move toward greater ease, stability, and a renewed sense of inner calm.
Ketamine Assisted Therapy Education and Consultation
Ketamine-Assisted Therapy (KAT) requires far more than medication knowledge alone. Effective and ethical practice depends on a deep understanding of the neurobiology, the therapeutic container, and the relational and somatic processes that shape client outcomes. Consultation and education at The Renewal Process are designed specifically for clinicians and clinics seeking advanced, practice-informed training in ketamine-assisted and psycholytic therapy.

Education includes the science of psychedelic and psycholytic mechanisms of action, indications and contraindications for use, dosing considerations, preparation and integration frameworks, and clinical decision-making across diverse client presentations. Training is grounded in trauma-informed, attachment-based, and relational models, with careful attention to safety, scope of practice, and ethical delivery.

Drawing on extensive clinical experience in psycholytic ketamine-assisted therapy, these consultations bridge theory and real-world application—supporting clinicians to move beyond protocols and into thoughtful, responsive practice. This work is suited for clinicians who want depth, nuance, and clarity, not shortcuts.

Consultation and education are led by Taunya, a counselling therapist and educator with extensive experience in ketamine-assisted and psycholytic therapy. Her work is informed by her role as former Executive Director of Bloom Psychedelic Therapy & Research Institute, her teaching with ATMA-CENA, and her ongoing consultation with ketamine-assisted therapy clinics across Calgary and internationally.
Along with previous direct experience brings a rare integration of clinical depth, educational rigor, and systems-level understanding to each consultation.
Somatic Sex Educator (Level 1)
Somatic Sex Education is an embodied, experiential approach to pleasure, intimacy, and relational aliveness. Rather than focusing solely on thoughts or performance, this work supports you in reconnecting with your body as a source of information, pleasure, and play.

“Somatic” means of the body. Through guided awareness, breath, movement, and reflective practices, I support clients in expanding their capacity for pleasure, deepening connection with themselves and their partners, and cultivating more passion, curiosity, and ease in their relational lives.

This work is educational and coaching-based and does not involve hands-on touch. Your body remains fully autonomous at all times. The focus is on helping your nervous system feel safe enough to explore sensation, desire, and connection in ways that feel aligned, grounded, and playful.

Somatic Sex Education can be a powerful complement to therapy for individuals and couples who want to move beyond insight alone and into lived, embodied change.
